01

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. We also use similar browser storage technologies (such as localStorage) in addition to cookies. This policy covers both.

02

What We Use

County Life Roleplay uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage, described below.

  • 2.1

    Strictly Necessary — Session Cookie
    Name: clrp_session
Purpose: Stores a signed authentication token that keeps you logged in between page loads. Without this cookie, you would be logged out every time you navigate to a new page.
Type: HttpOnly, Secure cookie — it cannot be accessed by JavaScript and is only sent over HTTPS.
Duration: Up to 7 days, or until you log out.
Can it be disabled?: No — this cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function for logged-in users. If you do not create an account or log in, this cookie is not set.

  • 2.2

Functional — localStorage (Application Wizard Drafts)
Technology: Browser localStorage (not a cookie).
Purpose: Saves your in-progress department application answers locally in your browser so you do not lose your progress if you accidentally close the tab or navigate away before submitting.
Data stored: Your in-progress application answers and current step, stored under a key specific to each department (e.g. application-draft-bcso).
Duration: Persists until you submit your application (at which point it is cleared) or until you clear your browser's local storage.
Can it be disabled?: Disabling localStorage will cause in-progress application answers not to be saved between sessions, but will not otherwise prevent use of the Service.

What We Do Not Use

We do not use:

  • Advertising or tracking cookies
  • Third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics)
  • Social media tracking pixels

If analytics or third-party tools are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe them, and appropriate consent mechanisms will be introduced where required.

04

Third-Party Cookies

We do not directly set third-party cookies. If you interact with embedded content (such as Discord widgets or external links), those third parties may set their own cookies subject to their own policies.

05

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View cookies currently stored
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific sites or all sites

Note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from remaining logged in to your County Life Roleplay account.

06

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves and new technologies are introduced. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision.
